PETA is known shaming people into giving their fur garments up as a “gesture of remorse”.

PETA collects donated fur coats, marks them with red paint and then hands them to homeless throughout the states.

In 2002, PETA donated 30 fur coats to the streets of Toronto women. A Canadian Press story on the donation mentioned that the “coat campaign has been criticized for marking the homeless. Toronto homeless shelter operator Alison Kemper said, “Warm coats aren’t a replacement for good shelter.” Lott’s article also mentioned the executive vice president of the Fur Council of Canada saying, “I’m glad to see PETA understands fur isn’t just some frivolous product but has some real value of warmth and insulation qualities.”

The Humane Society also accepts fur coat donations for us of bedding and nesting material for the animals in their care. Your donated fur coat is also is a tax-deductible!
